SYDNEY ALARMS / GUIDE

Access control: account ownership and recovery

Protect the administration software with individual administrator accounts where available. Secure backups of the configuration and document how credentials are revoked after a device or card is lost.

Why this decision matters

Shared owner access makes individual revocation and future account recovery harder to manage.

Work through the actual task

  1. Check supported individual administrator roles and recovery controls.
  2. Assign appropriate personal accounts and secure configuration backups.
  3. Test the supported account recovery procedure and store recovery information securely.

Worked example

Multiple supervisors share the same access-system administrator login. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: An authorised-admin list with changes traceable to a responsible person.

Limits and follow-up

Door security must preserve safe exit. Have the appropriate qualified professionals confirm the door and emergency release design.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
