Video intercoms: acceptance testing and sign-off

Make calls from each entry to each intended answering point. Check intelligible audio, face visibility and the agreed release function. Confirm that the release does not operate an unintended door or gate.

Why this decision matters

Signing off only that devices are powered leaves the practical outcome and unresolved defects unverified.

Work through the actual task

  1. Place calls from each entry and identify the displayed entrance.
  2. Check intended answering points and ensure each release operates the correct entry.
  3. Keep a signed test record with any outstanding items and the date for follow-up.

The outcome to verify

  • Call from each entrance to every intended answering point. Check intelligible two-way audio, useful video and the correct release function. Test mobile answering using the supported external connection, and retain model, ownership and release-interface information.

Worked example

Two entrances must call different indoor stations. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A tested entrance-to-monitor/release schedule with unresolved items recorded.

Limits and follow-up

An intercom relay does not power every lock. Ask the installer to confirm the lock supply, release method and safe exit arrangement.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
