Video intercoms: account ownership and recovery

Make the customer or authorised building manager the account owner. Confirm how a lost phone is removed and how ownership can be recovered without relying on an installer’s personal account.

Why this decision matters

Shared owner access makes individual revocation and future account recovery harder to manage.

Work through the actual task

  1. Establish who controls owner/recovery access.
  2. Arrange a supported transfer to the customer or authorised building manager.
  3. Test the supported account recovery procedure and store recovery information securely.

Worked example

The installer created the cloud account under a personal email. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A customer-controlled account and the documented recovery route.

Limits and follow-up

An intercom relay does not power every lock. Ask the installer to confirm the lock supply, release method and safe exit arrangement.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
