SYDNEY ALARMS / GUIDE

Security maintenance: maintenance and follow-up checks

Use a dated checklist covering detection, alerts, playback, clock settings and account access as relevant. Follow model-specific instructions and assign follow-up work rather than bypassing warnings.

Why this decision matters

A powered-on indicator does not prove that the detection, recording, release or reporting outcome still works.

Work through the actual task

  1. Compare it with the installed equipment instructions.
  2. Check detection, recording, time, alerts and access as relevant.
  3. Assign each follow-up to a person and book qualified service for internal electrical work.

Worked example

A checklist has been reused for several different model ranges. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A model-appropriate service record with specific failures and follow-up.

Limits and follow-up

Arrange tests with the monitoring provider first where applicable. Do not trigger a response service without following the agreed test process.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
