Why this decision matters
Loss of a remote feature should not be confused with proof that every local function has failed.
Work through the actual task
- Confirm the communicator's supported alternative and its service status.
- Arrange an authorised loss-of-connection/reporting test with the provider.
- Write down the expected behaviour during a connection loss and the way the system reports it.
Worked example
Broadband fails but a second transmission path was quoted. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.
The useful evidence at the end of this example is: Evidence of the tested path rather than a claim based only on two antennas.
Limits and follow-up
Ask which communications paths and backup power are included. Internet, mobile coverage and subscription dependencies should be clear before activation.
If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
