Remote security access: user permissions and access changes

Use individual sharing where supported rather than giving everyone the owner login. Revoke old phone or staff access and check whether stored sessions remain active after a password change.

Why this decision matters

Removing a person from a contact list does not necessarily revoke their device or platform permissions.

Work through the actual task

  1. Review platform shares and connected user permissions.
  2. Revoke that user's supported access and check applicable active sessions.
  3. Review the user list after a staff departure, tenancy change or lost credential.

Worked example

A staff member leaves with an app still installed on their phone. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A current remote-user list with the departure change recorded.

Limits and follow-up

Avoid exposing recorder ports directly to the internet. Discuss supported secure access options and keep the device software maintained.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
