Security repairs: usability and accessibility checks

Describe any difficulty reading a fault display or reaching the controls. Ask for the fault explanation and restored operating procedure in a format the intended user can follow.

Why this decision matters

A feature list cannot show whether the intended person can reach, read, hear or complete the actual control task.

Work through the actual task

  1. Arrange a safe photo or help recording the visible indication.
  2. Request the explanation and operating steps in a usable format.
  3. Have the intended users try the proposed control method before committing to a final position.

Worked example

A user cannot read the small fault message clearly. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A clear user-facing account of the fault and restored routine.

Limits and follow-up

Do not open mains powered equipment or defeat tamper switches. Arrange a qualified service visit when a fault needs internal inspection.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
