Security repairs: maintenance and follow-up checks

Use the repaired function during an agreed follow-up check and record any recurrence. Ask which routine maintenance would help prevent a repeat and which symptoms require a new service visit.

Why this decision matters

A powered-on indicator does not prove that the detection, recording, release or reporting outcome still works.

Work through the actual task

  1. Agree a follow-up check relevant to the repaired function.
  2. Record recurrences with the same time/symptom fields.
  3. Assign each follow-up to a person and book qualified service for internal electrical work.

Worked example

A repaired fault is intermittent and needs observation. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A service history linking the repair to its observed outcome.

Limits and follow-up

Do not open mains powered equipment or defeat tamper switches. Arrange a qualified service visit when a fault needs internal inspection.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
