SYDNEY ALARMS / GUIDE

Security upgrades: handover and user training

Demonstrate the new functions as well as the retained ones. Confirm old app access has been handled, configuration records are updated and all authorised users know the revised operating procedure.

Why this decision matters

A successful installer demonstration is not enough if the intended user cannot repeat the everyday task.

Work through the actual task

  1. Demonstrate new and retained everyday functions.
  2. Confirm old access is addressed and users have revised instructions.
  3. Perform the everyday tasks yourself and note any step that needs a written instruction.

Worked example

New app access works but the household has not tried normal alarm use. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A handover result covering the whole changed system, not one new feature.

Limits and follow-up

A new panel or recorder may change app access and ongoing costs. Include user migration, account ownership and demonstrations in the quotation.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
