SYDNEY ALARMS / GUIDE

Access control: handover and user training

Practise creating a user, assigning a schedule and revoking a lost credential. Walk each door with the installer and confirm the authorised entry and exit operation.

Why this decision matters

A successful installer demonstration is not enough if the intended user cannot repeat the everyday task.

Work through the actual task

  1. Practise issuing, scheduling and revoking a test credential.
  2. Walk each relevant door and check the user's permitted route.
  3. Perform the everyday tasks yourself and note any step that needs a written instruction.

Worked example

The manager needs to revoke a lost card independently. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: An administration guide and a current door-permission schedule.

Limits and follow-up

Door security must preserve safe exit. Have the appropriate qualified professionals confirm the door and emergency release design.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
