SYDNEY ALARMS / GUIDE

Access control: preparing for the work

Arrange access to every affected door and nominate the person who can approve the user groups. Make existing key, credential and controller information available to the authorised installer.

Why this decision matters

Unresolved access or decision authority can delay work or leave a change awaiting approval.

Work through the actual task

  1. Arrange authorised access and an agreed work sequence.
  2. Prepare user groups and temporary access instructions with the site contact.
  3. Confirm access times, parking arrangements and any restrictions on noisy work before the visit.

Worked example

Existing doors will remain in use during an upgrade. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A door changeover schedule naming the person authorised to accept changes.

Limits and follow-up

Door security must preserve safe exit. Have the appropriate qualified professionals confirm the door and emergency release design.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
