SYDNEY ALARMS / GUIDE

Home alarms: user permissions and access changes

Give authorised users distinct codes where supported, so a departed employee or contractor can be removed individually. Decide who holds master access and who can change the user list.

Why this decision matters

Removing a person from a contact list does not necessarily revoke their device or platform permissions.

Work through the actual task

  1. Check which user record belongs to that person.
  2. Have an authorised administrator remove that user through the supported procedure.
  3. Review the user list after a staff departure, tenancy change or lost credential.

Worked example

A cleaner no longer needs an alarm code. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: An updated access list and confirmation that the removed code no longer works.

Limits and follow-up

A siren, an app alert and professional monitoring are separate features. Confirm who receives a signal and what they are expected to do.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
