Why this decision matters
Testing before the final layout, lighting or network changes may miss a problem introduced by the completed work.
Work through the actual task
- Mark each cable exit and the recorder's network/power position on the plan.
- Coordinate cable installation before finishes and repeat view checks after lighting is fitted.
- Photograph agreed cable positions before walls close and keep the images with the handover documents.
Worked example
New eaves will be closed before the security contractor attends. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.
The useful evidence at the end of this example is: Cable-route photographs and a final camera position plan.
Limits and follow-up
A recorder is not a backup. Export important clips promptly and check that the exported file plays on a separate device.
If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
