Video intercoms: handover and user training

Place a test call, speak in both directions and try the authorised release function. Confirm what happens when nobody answers and how an indoor user distinguishes different entrances.

Why this decision matters

A successful installer demonstration is not enough if the intended user cannot repeat the everyday task.

Work through the actual task

  1. Make a call to each intended answering point.
  2. Test intelligible two-way audio and each agreed release function.
  3. Perform the everyday tasks yourself and note any step that needs a written instruction.

Worked example

The indoor screen answers but nobody has tried mobile calling. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A user instruction describing the expected call and release sequence.

Limits and follow-up

An intercom relay does not power every lock. Ask the installer to confirm the lock supply, release method and safe exit arrangement.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
