Strata security: equipment records and documentation

Keep common equipment diagrams, model lists, approved settings and the commissioning record under controlled management. Maintain a separate secure process for credentials and administrator recovery.

Why this decision matters

A list of brand names without locations, models or responsibilities is often insufficient for later service.

Work through the actual task

  1. Assemble diagrams, station lists and current administrator responsibilities.
  2. Keep commissioning results and the supported recovery process securely.
  3. Nominate the person who updates the record whenever equipment or permissions change.

Worked example

Building records contain model names but no configuration ownership. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A management record usable through future contractor and manager changes.

Limits and follow-up

Do not assume a resident can authorise changes to common property. Confirm the approval process and the person authorised to accept the work.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
