SYDNEY ALARMS / GUIDE

Wireless alarms: account ownership and recovery

Use the supported pairing and account ownership process. Remove devices through the authorised procedure before disposal or transfer so the system record reflects the equipment still in service.

Why this decision matters

Shared owner access makes individual revocation and future account recovery harder to manage.

Work through the actual task

  1. Use the authorised device removal procedure.
  2. Review associated app/account ownership if equipment changes hands.
  3. Test the supported account recovery procedure and store recovery information securely.

Worked example

A sensor is removed but remains enrolled in the system. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A current enrolled-device list matching the hardware still installed.

Limits and follow-up

Do not assume wireless devices from different ranges work together. Obtain a written compatible device list for the specific panel and firmware.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
