SYDNEY ALARMS / GUIDE

Wireless alarms: equipment records and documentation

Keep the device list, zone names, battery types and supervised link test results. Record the exact panel range to make later additions easier to check for compatibility.

Why this decision matters

A list of brand names without locations, models or responsibilities is often insufficient for later service.

Work through the actual task

  1. Label each device by its real location and exact model.
  2. Record approved battery types and the panel family.
  3. Nominate the person who updates the record whenever equipment or permissions change.

Worked example

Several sensors have generic names such as zone one. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A device register that makes future warning reports unambiguous.

Limits and follow-up

Do not assume wireless devices from different ranges work together. Obtain a written compatible device list for the specific panel and firmware.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
