SYDNEY ALARMS / GUIDE

Wireless alarms: user permissions and access changes

Keep user permissions separate from device enrolment rights. An everyday user may not need access to add or remove sensors. Review old app users after staff or occupancy changes.

Why this decision matters

Removing a person from a contact list does not necessarily revoke their device or platform permissions.

Work through the actual task

  1. Review supported user and administrator permissions.
  2. Limit device-enrolment authority to the responsible role.
  3. Review the user list after a staff departure, tenancy change or lost credential.

Worked example

Everyday users can accidentally change enrolled devices. This is a hypothetical example, not a completed customer installation.

The useful evidence at the end of this example is: A role list separating normal arming from configuration access.

Limits and follow-up

Do not assume wireless devices from different ranges work together. Obtain a written compatible device list for the specific panel and firmware.

If the relevant check cannot be completed, record what remains uncertain and who will resolve it before work or sign-off proceeds.
